Why the bridal portrait prior to the wedding is so very important.

I offer bridal portraits with my wedding package. I always encourage brides to take these sessions, even though it might sound like a more thrifty idea to forego the session. The main reason being, on wedding day, I average about 15-20 portrait shots of the bride alone. This does not included the many candids also caught. I mean portrait quality portraits. The logistics of time and the craziness of the wedding day limit the time I get to spend alone with the bride. And, often, the portraits are caught at the wedding venue (mostly the church) near the building or room where the bride is getting ready. However, when I get to photograph the bride a week or two prior to the wedding, I am able to create a lovely portfolio of images that just isn’t possible to get on wedding day. We are not rushed for time. We can choose any number of wonderful locations to shoot at. And we are able to get really creative. Every bride who has opted to do this has been so incredibly happy that they did so. And, let’s face it ladies, isn’t it fun to wear that dress more than once?
